As for why I love Amberly, I could talk about this for hours, though I'll only cover some high level points. First and foremost, the neighbors, and neighborhoods, are absolutely fantastic. The Peninsula has a small town feel where you can go next door to grab a cup of sugar should one be needed. No matter the need, neighbors here are always willing to lend a hand. Secondly the amenities are phenomenal. The pool with slide, Resident's Center with indoor basketball and weight room and walking paths throughout Amberly are without a doubt the best in the triangle. Third, the location is awesome. Amberly is located minutes from I-540/NC-540, less than 15 minutes from Southpoint Mall in Durham, Brier Creek in Raleigh, and Beaver Creek in Apex. Its also minutes from RTP and Jordan Lake. Finally, from an economical standpoint, Amberly is the absolute best value in the Triangle. There is no where else where quality, convenience, and amenities converge quite like they do in Amberly.

North Chatham Schools

The Peninsula at Amberly is in Chatham County and the town is Cary. The children therefore attend Chatham County Schools. A parent from the neighborhood with two children in North Chatham Schools shared her school experience with us.

As a new homeowner in the Peninsula at Amberly, I wanted to pass along my thoughts regarding the school district for prospective buyers. My husband and I, along with our three school age children, moved to the Peninsula in December 2007.

My kids attended a highly regarded private school known for its academics in upstate New York. I had many reservations about putting them into a public school here in North Carolina. After a visit to North Chatham Elementary I found that my fears were unfounded. I have discovered that the school is very progressive and has a rigorous curriculum that would challenge most students. I was surprised to find that my children were somewhat behind in a few subjects when they arrived at North Chatham. The teachers quickly got them right on track and they have been doing extremely well ever since. My experience with their teachers has been pleasant and I have been encouraged to come in to my kids classrooms to volunteer or even have lunch with them whenever I would like. I would not hesitate to recommend the school to anyone who was considering moving in to the Peninsula.

Giving Back

One of our Garman Homes differences is that we Give It Back. There are a variety of ways that we do this including an annual event called April In Bloom. This year we gave out flats of flowers and raffled off an Elm tree in each of our neighborhoods. It is one way that we can be a good neighbor. Below is a note from a Peninsula homeowner after the event.

Hi Jim:
I would like to thank you for donating the plants and the Elm tree to our neighborhood for the draw that Garman Homes had recently. I won the tree and had it planted this week. It looks great in my backyard and I wanted to let you know I appreciate Garman's efforts to be part of our community.
